Sales are down, security cameras reveal nothing, and store managers are panicking. To unravel the mystery, three employees volunteer to work a nine-hour dusk-till-dawn shift. In the dead of the night, they’ll patrol the empty showroom floor, investigate strange sights and sounds, and encounter horrors that defy the imagination.
Thoughts
I picked this up after seeing Emma over at Emmmabooks on YouTube talk about it in a reading wrap-up.I love the design of this book, it's designed like a furniture catalogue, with the illustrations of the furniture getting more and more sinister as the story goes on.
I found myself surprised by how much I actually enjoyed this book, I ended up reading it over the course of two days, I just couldn't stop. I found the writing flowed so well together, and the mystery was just put together so well, everything tied in so well together.
I loved the group of characters, they worked so well together, and when it came to the line they really did work well and really cared for each other.
I found that Amy and Basil both had so much development and growth as characters. At the start of the book, Amy can be seen as a slacker type of character, but this story really tests her mettle.
I found this book to be a five star read, but I brought it down a star as I wanted more from the ending, I think if there was a promise of a sequel to deal with that ending I would have given that star back (OK so I might be being a little tiny bit petty there). I was left wanting more at the end of the book and needing to know more about these characters.
Overall, this is such a fantastic book, but be warned that ending will leave you wanting more.
