Dinah has been exiled from Wonderland. The vicious father she always feared has framed her for the brutal murder of her brother and turned the kingdom against her.

Now hiding in the lush and mysterious Twisted Wood with only her war steed at her side, Dinah is faced with a choice. She could leave Wonderland forever or return and fight her father for her throne—a fight she knows would only result in bloodshed.

When a chance encounter with one of her father’s long-lost enemies brings Dinah more allies than she ever could have imagined, war starts to feel inevitable. But before Dinah can lead her people into combat, she must confront certain truths about her heart and her destiny—no matter how dark those truths may be.

Revolution is rising in Wonderland.

Dinah’s battle has begun.

Thoughts

This is a sequel to Queen of Hearts (so be warned there may be spoilers regarding book one), which was a really good start to the series, so I was looking forward to seeing where Colleen Oakes went with the sequel.

I found this to be quite slow going, the book didn't really pick up until just over midway into the book, and then it got gripping. You do have to persevere with this book would be my advice for this, keep going it does get better.

I am still loving Dinah as a character, and I think in this book she is really starting to grow as a character, and starting to become the Queen of Hearts that we know.
I also found myself liking Cheshire, he was such a smarmy character in the first book and you don't find out why he is helping Dinah until this book. I was hesitant to believe his reasons (just like Dinah), as in the first book he is a character that is always after power.

I did feel for Dinah and he relationship with Wardley, you really want them to be together as Dinah has loved him for so long, and he just can't make himself love her. You start then to notice her becoming like the Queen of Hearts we know with regards to Wardley and how she treats him.

Overall a really good book, and I can't wait to read the finale in the series to see how it all ends.
