The good, the bad, the pretty and the ugly - Tally's seen it all. But now she's been turned into one of the 'Specials', a superamped fighting machine engineered to keep the Uglies down and the Pretties stupid.

Thoughts

The story follows Tally, who has now been turned into a Special, and is part of a team called the 'Cutters' (WARNING: Self-Harm), with Shay and others.

I did enjoy this book, but I did find it slow going at the start, but I persevered and it was well worth it. The book is well written, but the Tally-Wa and Shay-La did get a bit tedious after a while.

I loved which way Westerfeld led this story with the Smokies and where they had gone and settled, as well as the introduction of the pills (the meds that were given to Tally in the previous book), which have been distributed around New Pretty Town.

I loved Zane, in this book and that we got to see what had happened to him after the events of the previous book. I also found his narrative to be quite sad, and I will admit some tears were shed.
I found Tally to still be a great character, and what I do have to give props to is that through all the books she seems to grow as a character a bit more.

Overall a great book, and a great ending to the series, (as far as I know the next books are set in the same universe but don't contain Tally, David, or Shay).
