Thoughts

SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE GAME

I picked this graphic novel up as my husband started playing the game, and I really got into the story, so when I heard they were releasing a graphic novel based on one of the possible endings of the game, I had to grab it.

I loved Max and Chloe as characters, their relationship has been building through the game and moving on more through the graphic novel. These two characters just work so well together, Max is the rational one, and Chloe is the irrational one, they seem to balance each other out.

When picking this up I did wonder where they were going to take the story, and how were they going to build upon it.
We find Max and Chloe living in Seattle and it is a year after the hurricane hit and destroyed the town. Max starts to have moments where she goes between two different realities, and both she and Chloe realise they must go back to Arcadia Bay. On returning, Max still keeps going between the two realities and they realise that because of the choices Max has made she is jumping between the realities and that they need to stabilise.

I really did like where they took the story and how the managed to build on it as well as expand, I loved the artwork in this as it is also interspersed with images from the game.

Overall, a really good addition to the Life is strange cannon.
