17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with a gorgeous, intelligent boy, Daniel, at her new school, the grim, foreboding Sword & Cross . . . only to find out that Daniel is a fallen angel, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart.

Thoughts

The story focuses on Luce who is sent to Sword & Cross due to the death of a classmate in a fire that she has been implicated in.
While there she meets Daniel, who is very hostile towards her, even though Luce can't seem to stay away from him.

When I picked it up this was a re-read, and I still did enjoy this book and the characters.

I found myself really loving Penn as a character, she seemed like such a great person to be friends with, and I found Luce was a good character. I found myself also liking Cam as a character, he seemed to be more complex than Daniel and there seemed to be more there to discover.

I have mentioned that I am not a fan of instalove, but this one I think is the exception to the rule (due to the past history between Daniel and Luce).

I found the story well thought out and flowed together really well, and just so easy to follow. I found the story did pull me in and I loved the friendship between Luce and Penn.

Overall not a bad start to the series and I will carry on with my re-read.
