Goodreads Blurb

Dinah has lost everyone she ever loved. Her brother was brutally murdered. The wicked man she believed was her father betrayed her. Her loyal subjects have been devastated by war. And the boy she gave her heart to broke it completely.

Now a dark queen has risen out of the ashes of her former life. Fury is blooming inside Dinah, poisoning her soul and twisting her mind. All she has left is Wonderland and her crown, and her obsession to fight for both. But the war rages on, and Dinah could inherit a bloodstained throne. Can a leader filled with love and rage ever be the ruler her kingdom needs? Or will her all-consuming wrath bring Wonderland to its knees?

This is not a story of happily ever after.

This is the story of the Queen of Hearts.

Thoughts

This is the finale to the Queen of Hearts series by Colleen Oakes (I will forewarn there may be spoilers).
I never thought a series would get better as it went on but this one really did, I found the start of the series slow going, but this book from the word go is just pedal to the floor, and it is non-stop.

I loved Dinah, and I really felt for her in this book as she is really thrown through the ringer,  she loves Wardley but he just can't love her back. I will admit I did foresee the love triangle that came about and I did think something was going to happen to turn her into the Queen of Hearts.
I was pleasantly surprised with how Colleen Oakes played this final book out, and the little inclusion of how Lewis Carroll may have come up with the story of Alice in Wonderland.

I loved how this one was written the writing just flowed and you were kept gripped with the story from beginning to end.

Overall a great end to the series, and I loved this book that much that I actually went and bought a physical copy of the book.
