Goodreads Blurb

To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters - never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City - whatever the cost?

Thoughts

Can I just mention before I get into the review how gorgeous are these covers, I love these editions and will have to get the first 2 books with these covers.

I found this to be the best of the books so far, I found myself previously liking the past 2 books but found they hadn't drawn me in as much as this did. This book just had me hooked from the start, and the twist regarding Sebastian you don't see coming.

I found that this was paced so well and just found myself breezing through this. I found this to be very fast paced as this book brings everything together regarding Valentine.

I love Simon, I find he is really coming into his own in this book, he's not just Clary's sidekick, but my all time favourite is Magnus, I mean it's Magnus Bane. I love the relationship between Magnus and Alec and can't wait to see how they go.

Overall the best of the series so far, and I have read the rest of the series (so watch this space for the reviews)
