Ivy Westfall is beyond the fence and she is alone. Abandoned by her family and separated from Bishop Lattimer, Ivy must find a way to survive on her own in a land filled with countless dangers, both human and natural. She has traded a more civilized type of cruelty--forced marriages and murder plots--for the bare-knuckled brutality required to survive outside Westfall's borders.

Thoughts

This follows on straight away from the previous book (The Book of Ivy) and follows Ivy after she has been thrown out of the town past the fence.

I found myself really enjoying this book and found this flowed so well, and the characters were just so well written.

I found myself loving the relationship between Ivy and Bishop and was rooting for them the whole way through this book.

I also loved that we got to explore the world a bit more, especially with Ivy being put out of the settlement you got to see how other people in this dystopian world have survived.
I loved the little twist in the story regarding Ivy's parents as well as Bishop's, and how what happened in the past led to the events depicted in the two books.

Overall a really great book, and I would love to read more from this author.
