This morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she’d have to do. This afternoon, her planet was invaded.

The year is 2575, and two rival megacorporations are at war over a planet that’s little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra—who are barely even talking to each other—are forced to fight their way onto an evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit.

But their problems are just getting started. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet's AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their enemy; and nobody in charge will say what’s really going on. As Kady hacks into a tangled web of data to find the truth, it's clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: the ex-boyfriend she swore she'd never speak to again.

Thoughts

The premise of this story isn't what pulls you in, it's the layout of the book that is the star of the show in my opinion.
With the layout of the book reading the story could become quite confusing as you have ships schematics, and drawings, emails, memo's, etc, but surprisingly the story just flows so well that I literally just flew through this book.

I loved the basis of this story that a mega-corporation is wanting this planet, and tries to destroy the whole population so they can get their hands on it without any witnesses. It seems so much like something you would expect the big corporations of today to turn out like in the future.

I loved Ezra and Kady, and found these to be fantastic characters, they are trying to make the most out of a completley bad situation.

I found the twists in the story absolutely amazing, you had an infection outbreak on one of the 2 ships that had managed to escape, a psycho AI system. I was just gripped from start to finish, and for such a long book I finished it relativively quickly.

Overall a great read and one I would recommend if you want a sci-fi story with a bit of a twist.
